Governance
Good governance is how a charity keeps its promises. This page sets out how we are structured, who is accountable, and where you can raise a concern.
Legal status
We are registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission, registration number 8353894. Our exact legal form is being confirmed.
Trustees
Our trustees are responsible for the charity's strategy, finances and compliance, and for ensuring it acts within its objects.
Financial accountability
We will keep restricted funds separate from unrestricted funds and use them only for the purpose they were given for. Our reports and accounts will be published as they become available.
Safeguarding
We have a duty of care to everyone we work with. We do not work directly with children or adults at risk. Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and acted on.
Conflicts of interest
Trustees are expected to declare interests that could affect their judgement, and to withdraw from decisions where a conflict exists.
Risk management
We will identify the risks to our beneficiaries, our people and our funds, and review them regularly rather than annually by ritual.
Complaints and whistleblowing
Anyone can complain about our work, and anyone can raise a concern about wrongdoing. Neither will be held against you.
